5K Wine Run at Cartecay Vineyards

Kick off the year at Cartecay Vineyards with a breathtaking backdrop of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and amazing wines produced by locally grown Cartecay Vineyards’ grapes! Please Note: This is a very hilly course. It is very suitable for walkers and beginners, but does have some challenging spots.

Ace The Race @ Carters Lake

Experience a nature-filled run along one of North Georgia’s most scenic routes, circling the stunning Carters Lake! Starting and finishing at the dam, participants will receive a race bib and a commemorative race T-shirt with registration. All proceeds support the National Public Lands Day Clean-up. Run for a great cause!

Sasquatch Strut @ Harrison Park

Join us for the 4th Annual Sasquatch Strut 5K and Fun Run, hosted by Friends of Harrison Park, Inc., in Downtown Ellijay! Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:30 AM, with the 5K kicking off at 8:30 AM. The Fun Run will follow shortly after the 5K concludes. Both races start and finish at Harrison Park and are untimed, making it perfect for runners of all levels. Don’t miss out on this fun community event!

Run for the Son

The Gilmer Christian Learning Center is hosting its 19th annual Run for the Son 5K fundraiser. This year the ministry is offering both in-person and virtual options for participants! Ellijay Mushrooms Fungi 5K

This fun event begins and ends at the scenic Ellijay Mushrooms Farm, and takes participants along rural county roads and through a local winery. Participants will receive mushroom-themed finisher medals, a dri-fit T-shirt, and opportunities to win raffle prizes and age group awards! With live music, delicious mushrooms, and wine available until noon, this event promises a memorable experience while supporting a local charity.

Georgia Apple Festival 5K

The 49th Annual Apple Festival 5K and 1-mile race is a great way to kick off your Apple Festival weekend! This race is a certified course that starts and ends at the Ellijay Elementary School located off North Main Street across from City Hall. Awards are given to overall, master, and grandmaster winners, as well as the top 3 in various age categories.
