Stained Christmas Ornament
November 11 – Learn about the process of making stained glass art by making your own stained glass Christmas ornaments under the guidance of local stained glass artist, Warren Acree. Turkey Shoot
November 11 – Join American Legion Post 82 for the first annual Turkey Shoot on November 11 starting at 12:00. This will be held in the back hall and the Legion will supply air rifles. Prizes 14 pound turkey and some hams. You get 3 practice shots and 1 final.
Turkey Trot at Chateau Meichtry
November 12 – Like Running or Walking? Love Wine? This race is for you! Join us for another exciting “Thanksgiving themed” event that features the amazing scenery and landscape of Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard and Winery that lies in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

November 17 – Stop by the George Link Jr., Gilmer Arts Playhouse for Open Mic Night for Area and Regional Musicians. Each musician plays 2-3 songs and joins in the final jam with other musicians. Admission for the audience is free. Concessions are available.

Holiday Lights 🎄
November 20 – Don’t miss the spectacular community holiday celebration, Holiday Lights of Ellijay, beginning on November 20th, featuring an enchanting display of over two million dazzling lights and more than a hundred breathtaking installations, including towering trees and a mesmerizing light maze. This event, held at the Lions Club Fairgrounds, offers a festive ambiance complete with Santa Claus, live music, delectable concessions, and seasonal vendors, while also supporting local charities through a portion of the proceeds.

November 24 – Join the heartwarming festivities with Mr. & Mrs. Semper Fi Santa for memorable pictures at The Gumdrop Fun Shop in Ellijay, GA, on November 24, 2023, from 12 pm to 2 pm, welcoming pets, kids, and adults. A minimum donation of $10 is encouraged, with all proceeds dedicated to furthering the charitable initiatives of the Friends Of Gilmer Animal Shelter in Gilmer County.
Turkey Shuffle Fundraising Bike-Ride and Run
November 25 – Gear up for the thrilling 13th Annual Turkey Shuffle event, offering an adventurous “scavenger hunt” throughout the Chattahoochee National Forest, where participants, including runners, hikers, and cyclists, will navigate designated locations within a 5-hour time frame to earn points and raffle tickets!
