The Tabor House Museum – Summer Open House

For the first time, The Tabor House Museum will host a Special Open House on July 1, 2023 from 11AM to 4PM.
You will be greeted by Confederate soldiers (re-enactors), meet some of the Tabor women dressed in 1800’s period dress, meet the children’s nanny, and some of the Tabor family members. Listen to the visiting dulcimer players entertaining the “Tabor family” and friends in the parlor. Lastly, you won’t want to miss visiting with a Cherokee woman. Cost will be $5.00 to attend (children are free).
Why not include this along with your other 4th of July events? Not only can you stroll through the house with tour
guides but you may want to find that special book or DVD on the Civil War at a good price in our “Book Sale” room or bring your children to visit with the soldiers who will show them what the soldiers would be carrying in their knapsacks through the war as well as their weapons used in battle. Maybe they have always wanted to see a real Cherokee Indian or “fairy stones.” Children will always remember living history.
